I know everyone and their mother already did that exercise/meme, but I really needed the practice. I change my character designs every 2 weeks so it's been hard drawing the same face 25 times. I wanted to try on Marine first but since the character is as expressive as a Terminator (or Steven Seagal) it would not have been much of a challenge. I'll probably do more of them so I'm sorry for those already tired of seeing this thing already. (You can send me hate mail if that appease you).
I love how it's not just the arrangement of her features that determine mood, but the placement of your shadows, too. I don't think I've seen that in any other version of this exercise.
She's adorable. It's amazing how much difference even a slight variation in the eyes can make in meaning. This is one of my favorite ones I've seen of this excercise.
