Ok, I promise you next posts will not be about Marine
I took several small sketches of her and try different coloring techniques and costume design. I know she does not look the same on each image, that's mostly because I'm still searching an interesting look for her face. For the costume designs I tried to keep in mind that she comes from a tropical island where most of the population are fishermen and also that she has to fight a lot. There are some impractical elements here and there because I tried to make the costumes look like they were not just bathing suits
Sorry for the long paragraph. As usual, sketches on paper and colors in Photoshop-jutsu. Comments, critics, personal favorites are always welcome. Emo poems are not
I think the last one is very lovely--after having compared them all in contrast. cx I guess it's the mixture of the good lineart and colors you used--but it looks fantastic and stuck out more to me. Plus that arm-gear outfit stuff looks plain awesome. Not enough characters have awesome costumes these days.
All of them look great! I'm glad she comes from an tropical island and is wearing not just bathing suits, because too many people give their characters next to no clothes when they come mountains or something. However, yours looks great and all of them look like she can fight in them (except for the last one, that loks more elegant). Anyway, I adore Marine's design, and all her costumes really fit her!
Really like the fourth one. I also like that you've shown them in different poses in different costumes instead of using the same pose four times like is done so much.

Her 5th design is really well done-and looks very practical for someone who is going to kick your butt and look good doing it XD Your 2nd coloring though really stands out for how soft and lovely it is, how exactly did you color that one? Good stuff in all-and cool designs!
Always one to handle costume designs very well. From the left, it looks tropical, but more to the right it starts to look more arabic-desert like in costume design. All in all, neat designs and coloring Guillaume!
