Discworld fan art - Sword of Passione by zazB Discworld fan art - Sword of Passione by zazB
I was reading Terry Pratchett's Moving Pictures and the description of the poster for Cut-Me-Own-Throat Dibler's first movie (Sword of Passione) caught my attention. I felt like I had to draw it.
The text is taken word for word from the book, I tried to get every mistake and every exclamation mark. I didn't put all the monsters that Victor is supposed to fight because while it may have been more faithful to the description, the composition would have been truly horrible (as it's supposed to be... but I just couldn't!)

The fonts I used are Devinne Swash and Muffaroo.

Is that a thick french accent? (Unfamiliar with Discworld)

Nah it's the way the characters write. I believe it's a mix of old English and typos by over enthusiastic characters. But I'm no expert at all.
The exclamation marks are a running gag though. You can measure someone's madness by their overuse of them.
They are great books that I would recommend :)

Doubtless when these new-fangled 'Moving Pictures' reached wherever the Silver Horde were hanging out at the time, Genghis Cohen took one look at the poster and growl "Barbarian Hero wearing a SHIRT? he might as well pop some trousers on over his underwear and start milking a d--- cow."

Please allow me to proffer my most profuse compliments zazB for your most excellent work upon this piece of art! (also for being able to draft Morporkian spelling with a straight face).;) (Wink)

Thank you!
The text is taken 100% from the book, so I have no credit there. Though, I will admit that it was not easy keeping the spelling as it was, I had to triple check if it was my mistakes or Dibbler's original text. And it made me laugh each time I read it!

It's a great parody of Hollywood, I had a great time reading it :)
The real Cohen would probably be mad not to have a cut of the profits.

the monsters could work with the discworld art style but few other styles could make it work

i must say you got the figures just right, they really look like they're taken over by the magic of Holy Wood

My goal was to make it look like an old Hollywood poster and it's pretty rare to have that much happening in one of them. Maybe if I had worked with some sort of split composition when you see the characters multiple times but on different scales.

The title and the way the man is holding the woman, reminds me of the Romance novels I read and write. By the way the word, "sword" has a double meaning in my scenario.Racing Girl Emoji (Heart shot wink) [V3]

That would actually be a good idea for a novel...and possibly a movie. It would probably have tons of action, "ahem action"; and adventure in it...I would imagine. I might even use this as one of my future ideas...unless you were planning on using it.
